Silke from the City of Surrey was our special presenter today. Students were introduced to topics such as climate change, green house gases and energy sources (renewable and non renewable). It was a great introduction to the natural resources unit we will be studying in Science. Students were amazed to learn that their tablets, phones and fridges are powered by waterfalls!
Students were engaged with games and activities surrounding these topics. One activity the students really enjoyed was building and testing a solar panelled car! Students used many of the engineering and design skills they have been learning about in our STEM challenges.
A big thank you to the City of Surrey and Skye Consulting for providing such an engaging and educational presentation.
