This week we had a fun day working together to complete some tasks during our Pumpkin Olympics. Students were put into groups, and spent the morning rotating through 6 stations.
1. Math: measurement (weight and circumference)
2. Word Maker
3. Art (thumbprint pumpkin patch)
4. Pumpkin Shot Put
5. Pumpkin Bowling
6. Pumpkin Obstacle Course (including pumpkin hockey)
Despite the rain, students actively participated, showed great team work and sportsman ship. So proud of you all!
We finished up the day with carving pumpkins. We managed to carve 52 pumpkins between the two grade 4 classes! Just in our class, we had 4 students who had never carved a pumpkin before and thought it was the best thing ever!
Thank you to my parent volunteers and to my grade 7 helpers who made the day possible.
Hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween!
PS: We had a few pumpkin casualties during pumpkin bowling and shot put, so we ended up using beats! The kids thought it was hilarious and Mrs. Hansen had a yummy supper that evening ;)
