Today was the culminating activity to our Power of Play Young Entrepreneur Project. Students proudly created a display of their creations in the library and had the opportunity to sell their products to the Dogwood school community. The sale was a success, as some students even sold out of all their products! Some products that were available were: Christopher's Pencilpen, Aaryan's magnets, Ethan's slime, Aneel's Desk Buddies, Garry's plastic bird feeders, Maliya's crayon creations, original artwork by Minh, Max and Naomi, Kamylle's notebooks, handmade jewelry by Fatimah and Rayna, original comic books by Daniel and Julie along with many other awesome and creative products.
After the Fair, students sat down to reflect upon the entire process of creating and running a business. They calculated their total profit (taking away, cost of materials and float in their cash box). Some students followed through with their decision to donate 10% of their profits to the Surrey Food Bank.
We received lots of positive feedback from students, parents, teachers and Mrs. Keeper who visited our Young Entrepreneur Fair! Well done division 6. So proud of you all!
