In math we are working through our unit on Geometry. This week students have been learning about shapes, faces, vertices and edges. We were very fortunate to have Natasha, a math professor from Simon Fraser University, visit our classroom this week to continue our investigation on this subject. We had a fun morning creating various polyhedrons using straws and tape. Some students built basic cubes and pyramids, while others challenged themselves to create more complex polyhedrons such as the regular dodecahedron or the regular icosahedron.
In the next few weeks we will be diving into our Geometrocity projects, where students will create an entire city using some craft supplies, their creativity and of course, geometric math concepts! Stay tuned for more!
