In the summer I applied for a grant through Science World for a post secondary math teacher to come to our school for a visit and lesson. Fortunately, we were approved for this grant and was paired up with Natasha who teaches mathematics at Douglas College.
This morning, Natasha led an engaging lesson about prime, composite numbers and geometric shapes. We then created a very cool and colourful modular origami ninja star! The kids loved them and had the best time.
At the end of the day, I asked the students to tweet out something they learned from the lesson. (Yes! We are learning how to tweet!)
Thank you to Natasha and to Science World for providing us with such an engaging and fun lesson. We hope that we can connect again in the future!
