Students quickly learned that we had to work together to make the boat move quickly through the water. We chanted out as we paddled and worked hard to become one unit. It was a lot harder than students thought it would be. After an hour out on the water practicing, it was time to race! Students had fun challenging each other to some friendly competition.
After we were done, the group headed to Olympic Village where we refueled and had some time to relax in the beautiful sunshine with a picnic lunch. Our day went by so quickly, and it was time to head back to school.
I hope that this day is a highlight of grade 4, and I hope that they will remember the great day we had on the water together! A big thank you to all our parent volunteers who spent the day with us. Field trips like these would not be possible without your help.
